Dog Show Near Faridkot: Kotkapura Championship Show, Nov 28-29

How far do Faridkot visitors travel to reach Kotkapura?

About 15 km by road (approximate). Kotkapura lies south-east of Faridkot, and both are in Faridkot district. The show is held in Kotkapura, not in Faridkot city, and the KCI listing gives the town without a venue.

Check a live map on the morning you travel, because town traffic can change the journey.

Is the Kotkapura show a short trip from Faridkot?

Yes. At about 15 km (approximate) it is the shortest of the Kotkapura town guides, and a family from Faridkot can go for a few hours and be home for lunch. You can also see the show on both days without much extra travel.

Timings are not listed, so phone the secretary to ask when the first rings begin.

Saturday or Sunday: which day for a Faridkot visit?

Both days are open. The listing does not say which breeds or numbered shows are on which day, so no day is known to be better for a given breed. Faridkot visitors who can spare both days could see more of the show; those with one free day can choose Saturday or Sunday according to their week.

Should I leave my own dog at home in Faridkot?

Yes, unless the club says otherwise. Pet policy is not listed. Arrange for a family member to feed and walk your pet while you are away.

Could a dog from Faridkot be entered?

Entries go through Kotkapura Kennel Club, and the KCI listing sets out no entry rules. The Kotkapura listing gives no closing date, so the chance may have passed. Because the town is so close, a visit in person or a phone call is an easy way to ask.

What do Faridkot visitors need to decide first?

• That the show is in Kotkapura, about 15 km away (approximate), and not in Faridkot city
• The venue, from the club secretary, since the listing names only the town
• Whether you will go on Saturday, Sunday or both
• Who will look after your own dog while you are out

Which Kotkapura guides cover other directions?

Jaitu lies about 20 km south of Kotkapura (approximate) and Muktsar about 40 km west, while Bathinda, about 55 km south, is the longest trip of the four. Faridkot is the only guide to the north-west.
