Dog Show Near Barrackpore: Madhyamgram Championship Show, Dec 5-6

Which way is Madhyamgram from Barrackpore?

Madhyamgram lies south-east of Barrackpore, about 15 km by road (approximate). Barrackpore is a cantonment town on the east bank of the Hooghly in North 24 Parganas district, and Madhyamgram is in the same district, further from the river.

The KCI listing names Madhyamgram as the venue town but not the ground, so the last stretch of the journey depends on where the club holds the show.

Is one day enough from Barrackpore?

At about 15 km by road (approximate), a Barrackpore visitor can plan a same-day return. The harder question is which day to pick: the 23rd and 24th shows share Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2026, and the schedule does not say which number falls on which date.

Can I take my pet from Barrackpore to watch?

The listing says nothing about pets in the show area. Do not assume a family dog is welcome; ring Madhyamgram City of Joy Kennel Club and get a clear answer, or arrange for the dog to stay at home.

Could a Barrackpore dog enter the show?

The club takes entries, and the KCI listing does not set out the entry process or a closing date. If you own a KCI-registered dog and want to show it, the club president’s details on the event guide are the place to start.

What to settle before leaving Barrackpore

• The venue in Madhyamgram, which the listing does not give
• The start time on each of the two days
• The gate fee, if spectators are admitted at all
• The closing date for entries, if you plan to show a dog

Why is this a Madhyamgram show and not a Kolkata one?

The KCI lists the venue as Madhyamgram, a town in the Kolkata region rather than the city itself. A Barrackpore reader looking for a Kolkata show should check the club name and the dates, because other kennel clubs hold shows around Kolkata on other weekends.

Which other North 24 Parganas towns have a guide?

Barasat is a short hop of about 5 km by road (approximate) from Madhyamgram, while Naihati, about 30 km north, and Habra, also about 30 km north-east, are further out. Barrackpore sits between the short hop and the longer trips.

Choosing a breed that suits your home in Barrackpore

A coat that looks lovely in the ring may mean daily brushing at home, and a working breed may need more exercise than a flat allows. Write down what each breed asks of its owner, then match that list to your own week before you speak to a breeder.

Buying a puppy in Barrackpore: what to check
